What's a "Missional Community"?
It's not rocket science. A "missional community" is a group of Christ's followers who gather together to learn as disciples, lead as missionary-servants, and live as a family.
Isn't that a "small group"?
Sort of. Usually small groups exist for the members and are centered around some "study" materials. If you are interested in the topic, you join the group. A missional community exists for the mission: to go and be the church in our community. It's all about direction, balance and rhythm. Here's a picture:

You said it was all about direction, balance and rhythm? I didn't see that in the picture!

Whoops! Here it is:
Direction: We are outward focused on bring the gospel to our communities
Balance: We seek to balance the three components of our identity:
Week 1 - Meet to learn, pray, and encourage one around gospel-centered material. Bring a friend to see how relevant the Word is to our lives.
Week 2 - Meet for fellowship and relationship building. This could be in a home or in a 3rd place or community event. This is a great time to include friends.
Week 3 - Meet to learn, pray, and encourage one around gospel-centered material. Bring a friend to see how relevant the Word is to our lives.
Week 4 - Meeting the practical needs of our neighbors & our city. Volunteering to serve with a local non-profit organization, club, or social event. Community development or Education projects, etc.
That sounds like a small group or a community group that lives with gospel intentionality. Am I right?

I think you've got it! You could call it a "gospel community on mission"!
Can I be a part of that?
Can I be a part of that?
You bet! Transform your current small group into a missional community or start a new missional community in a specific neighborhood or "gospel footprint".
